Do people actually like one-sentence paragraphs? I just read a pdf guide where every sentence was its own paragraph, and the experience was excruciating.
I’m used to paragraphs being a cluster of sentences about the same mini-idea. If there are, effectively, 20 paragraphs on one page, I assume there are 20 ideas there, and get overwhelmed.
Plus, the flow gets thrown off. Each sentence ends with a clunk. My momentum stops and I have to decide anew if I want to read the next sentence. In my head, the cadence sounds really weird.
The best guidance I’ve read on paragraph length is to mix it up, with none too long, and aim for a good rhythm. I know long paragraphs can be intimidating, but this is taking it too far.
I’m using short paragraphs myself. It’s fine. It’s the internet. Pardon this rant.
